Patient & Visitor Guide

Visitation

Adventist Health hospitals in Hanford, Reedley and Selma have a liberal visitation policy to encourage family and friends to be with their loved ones while they are in our care. Please help us continue this practice by acknowledging the care needs and visitation rights of other patients. Those visiting patients in semiprivate rooms should be respectful of both patients by:

  • Not overcrowding the room with visitors.
  • Keeping conversations at low volume.
  • Turning off overhead lights and TVs at reasonable evening hours.

Check at the nursing station for unit-specific hours. If you have concerns, please speak with a caregiver.

Customer Relations

If you should have any issues, please contact your caregiver immediately. Should you have questions about the hospital, comments about care or suggestions for service improvement, we encourage you to contact Patient Relations at 559-309-5943.

Find further guidance on resolving concerns.

Parking

Patient and visitor parking spaces are designated with white lines. Please do not park in spaces with yellow lines, which indicate restricted parking.

Cell Phones and Telephones

Cell phones may be used in most areas of the hospital. Cell phones may not be used in areas using sensitive equipment (such as intensive care unit, critical care unit, surgery and recovery rooms).

We encourage you to respect the privacy of patients by taking your call away from highly populated areas such as the waiting room. Most patient rooms have telephones for patient use.

Smoking

Smoking and tobacco use are not allowed on any Adventist Health/Central Valley Network location, including Adventist Medical Centers, Central Valley General Hospital, Community Care clinics and other sites. This restriction extends to all of our properties, inside and outside. For more information about tobacco cessation, please visit www.tobaccofreecv.com.
